We are reluctantly selling our one of a kind home. Our kids are getting older and are ready to return to our hometown and settle down on a farm. She is a turnkey bluewater high seas cruiser ready for anything.
Tuwamish is a Pacific Northwest icon. She was built for making laps around the Pacific. Much like John Samson did with his family on his C-Strutter. She’s been gently cruised up and down the Inside Passage since she was born. The builders lived on her for forty years.
She comes with enough tools and spare parts to fix about any problem you’ll come across. There’s enough storage for space for 6 months of food and water. We have enough water sports equipment to storm any beach in any surf conditions.
She sleeps 8 comfortably. And she is tuned right now to the key of 5. One teen, two kids and a set of parents to be exact.
After a 2 year refit, we worked out all the kinks cruising down the West Coast last Fall. This last Winter she took us into the magical Sea of Cortez. And now Spring was spent in the well earned tropical region around Puerto Vallarta. I say “well earned,” because cruising is hard work. And carrying a family out in the open ocean is a lot of responsibility.

I wouldn’t be caught out there in a boat that wouldn’t properly heave to. Or one that was SO fast that I couldn’t get sleep for fear of broaching when it surfed down a real ocean wave. “Pounding to windward,” not in this boat. More like sailing I’d call it. A steadiness that has to be experienced.
This boat is more like a home. A magical carpet of a home that could take us anywhere in the world in safety and comfort. It is the only home we have ever owned since our families blended three years ago. It pains us to sell, but our family dynamics have limits on this cruising lifestyle and we must return back to Washington this May. I have still have the ability to deliver this fine vessel anywhere in the world, but I invite you to consider starting your voyaging right here in Mexico. You need a good two-three years to see everything down here. Some find it so appealing, safe, and convenient to the US that they never leave!

Liability is easy to get and about $1K/year for a $1MIL of coverage . Geico will do it over the phone without a survey. That makes marinas happy.
Liability in Mexico is provided by a Mexico company. $300 a year. Gotta have it for Mexico marinas.
Full coverage is for people who plan on crashing. Instead, that money should be reinvested into making a well found boat, strong engine, solid ground tackle, and a crew that is trained and well rested.

One would expect a yacht of this quality to be around $300,000 but the negative connotation associated with the ferro cement hull material, works to your advantage. Thank the hippies of the 70’s for this unique price point. Many homemade were versions were launched with grossly inadequate rigs and armatures, no real sailor at the helm, and a patchy plastering job that was riddled with unbounded seams. This boat has no seams! Single day plastering.
$125,000 gets is delivered and loaded with all the goodies. If you don’t need it delivered or every last goody then make an offer. But you should come see her first, you might want to give me more than we are asking.
