You know you are photographing a fun bride and groom when they want to do a second <fake> First Look.
Note to most people: a First Look is an intimate one-on-one encounter before the ceremony begins, for the bride and groom to see each other. This is somewhat of a new concept that bucks years of tradition of holding out on all bride/groom encounters until the ceremony. And while I see the beauty in both options, I tend to prefer the First Look method.
Three reasons:
- It cuts the tension that has been building all day so that the ceremony feels a little more relaxed for the two that matter most.
- These events feel very natural and exciting. They give the opportunity for the couple to do what they want to do in that moment, (smooch and hug and cry,) without the crowd of a hundred people staring on.
- It allows for some sweet photo opportunities that gets the bulk of the couple’s portraits out of the way so that they can get down to partying and mingling with guest post ceremony, sooner. Which, for most couples; that’s what its all about!
So, a second first look?….
“Yeah! We were thinking over at that porta-potty!”
Scott and Annie, you guys rocked.
