We had just finished unpacking our bags when the 4th of July commotions started. The cheers and chortling echoing down from a sweet chalet in the woods above us beckoned me. I introduced myself as the new neighbor and they invited us up to feast. But this wasn’t just any Independence Day party this was a celebration of marriage as well.
Spencer and Rachel, of Legacy Charters, married privately on April 1st, and the Lopez Fireworks made for the ideal gathering time for friends and family to celebrate together. Now me, being addicted to documenting momentous occasions had to bring my camera, right?!
Rachel filled me in on her childhood days spent there on the property, learning to make knives with her grandfather. They will resume the knifesmithing tradition this winter and I’m sure we will be bringing up some hot cocoa and watching them work their craft. New friends! Yay!
