It doesn’t get much better than this; a two day Caribbean beach wedding at a private resort on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.
Everything about this weeding was rad:
The rehearsal dinner on the moonlit beach with tear jerking speeches and songs.
The hair, makeup and decor by Flower Child Weddings and Carli wore a TIA dress by Elizabeth Fillmore.
The barefoot beach wedding with Champagne toast followed by a whole day of activities like sailing, water slides and feeling like a rock star ordering drinks at the pool bar.
The incredible (and hard to color correct) constant color changing dance floor of the reception.
The greatest wedding band that I have ever, and will ever see: Andy Frasco and the U.N. (flew in from L.A.) They blew the doors off the place.
Carli and Nick are awesome and really took care of us down there. It was such an honor being a part of their celebration.
Being a destination wedding photographer feels like a job that I’m just meant to do. I really get into sharing the joy of the day and I have to hold back the tears sometimes in order to make sure I capture the shot.
Extra shout out to my assistant, Jess, for making my job half as hard as it could have been. I have come to trust on depend on her growing skill set to bring back killer images again and again from second locations.
(If you make it to the bottom of this huge post, you will get to read Carli and Nick’s reflections on their day.)
Her Take: “As I walked down the aisle of sand to meet my new husband I was taken away, almost lifted from the ground with happiness and love. As I approached my partner I could see that his big beautiful blue eyes were filling with tears of joy and I knew then that this man was truly ready to make me the happiest woman in the world. As we held hands and spoke our promised words to each other, I realized what marriage really means. Partnership forever: two individuals who are willing to sacrifice themselves for the survival of their family. I love this man with all my heart and our first day married could not have been more perfect. We were surrounded by so much love and hope that we could hardly hold it in! We are so blessed to have such an amazing start to our exciting journey together.”
His Take: “It’s been hard for me to place into words my feelings that morning as I waited on the beach for my bride. My heart was racing as tears of pure happiness overwhelmed me as I watched my boo approaching. I felt very happy. I couldn’t believe my life would turn out so well. I found the most beautiful woman in the world for me: and at this moment that was clear. We would be happy in this life together.”
