This post starts out with some Farmers Market shots from Saturday, you’ll unique handblown vases from Glacier Glass, tomato plant hunters at Hank’s Garden, beautiful inlaid jewelry of Earthwork Jewels, the always busy so in this case a slightly staged portrait of the muscle behind Rabbit Fields Farm, exquisite face painting happening over at the Chelle Beautiful booth, and more.
THEN, we clear the streets for the 4th Annual Appliance Art Revival & Derby, sponsored by the non-profit Appliance Depot. This was a great coming together of clever handyworks by some of the handiest people in town. Everyone played nicely together, the racing was clean for the most part. Only a few straw bales got injured. If you see this guy, check him out! He was pulling magic tricks out of all kinds of places!
And now, the Derby pics start!
Last minute adjustments and GoPro video attachments. I’ll be looking for that on YouTube.
Pregame stretching by a pit crew member.
Notice how there’s a (little) bend in the top of the fork of this chopper?
Some prerace excitement accelerated the failure of the fork before the horn was even blown.
…and then failure, five feet later.
The kids all laughed.
The Champion of the Downhill, Meats & Snacks.
Notice #2 back there, taking out the slalom course cone.
The retired multi-Cup Champion “Washp” making another victory run, JUST BECAUSE HE CAN.
Hope you can make it next year. The party went on for hours into the night, but the camera wasn’t able to document it. Peace.
